A Summer Break...
Hello there world, it's been a while
The sunny landscape of Fuengirola in Spain
My everlasting summer is near its end, meaning that my second year at university is approaching fast. 14 weeks of work experience, family gatherings, trips away and days simply lazing about binge-watching Netflix is finally over. It's time to head back to BU and back into the mindset of studying hard.
Am I excited to be heading back to uni? Of course. By week 8, I was getting a little bit sick of having practically no routine - there's only so many TV shows that you can watch before you inevitably end up bored. Being back home for a while has been bliss and it's been fantastic spending time with family and friends for so long but I would be lying if I said that I wasn't looking forward to returning to my "second life" back in Bournemouth.
I began my summer with some work experience at a local radio station. As a trainee journalist, any experience is invaluable, and I was extremely chuffed to be given two weeks at Metro Radio in Newcastle. From collecting Vox Pops, editing clips and scripts, and even getting to do some interviewing myself, I learnt so many new skills on the job and linked up with some brilliant contacts. My biggest reward from this was getting to share my passion for women's football which I was later interviewed for and featured on two regional news bulletins. This was a gratifying opportunity for me and I thoroughly enjoyed working in the radio sector.

June and July flew by and I spent these months simply catching up with my friends and relaxing at home after three months of arduous exam revision. A holiday in Spain, a trip to Edinburgh and soon the end of August arrived. With a couple of shopping trips to IKEA and the latter, I had picked up my second year supplies, all set to start a new year of education.
And here we are now: Freshers' Week is almost over and reality about to return. It's fair to say that this little blog has been neglected over the past months by my own fault (of course). Now it's not a promise but it is a hope of mine that I'll be updating this site weekly to get it up and running properly. Don't hold me to it though...
Here's to second year and another chapter!
