Anybody else been streaming Positions on repeat?

This week, pop princess Ariana Grande released her sixth studio album and we sadly said goodbye to Bond legend Sean Connery. Here's what I've been loving in the last seven days:

Magic of Disney's Animal Kingdom

Whether you are an animal-lover, a DisneyParks superfan, or just in need of something new to watch on DisneyPlus, this new documentary series is sure to be right up your street. Viewers are given an all-access pass to see everything behind the scenes at Disney's Animal Kingdom Park, their Animal Kingdom Lodge, and The Seas with Nemo and Friends at EPCOT (all of which are based at the DisneyWorld Resort in Orlando, Florida). The show proudly displays and pays tribute to more than 5,000 animals who call the Disney plots home, as well as the animal care experts who look after them. Narrated by American actor Josh Gad, each episode allows you to find out all the secrets and tricks of the trade that keep everything at the Animal theme park running so smoothly. You can watch Magic of Disney's Animal Kingdom on DisneyPlus.

Julie and the Phantoms

Fans of musicals everywhere will adore this new comedy-drama series from Netflix. Based on the Brazilian series Julie e os Fantasmos, Kenny Ortega (High School Musical, Descendants) has taken a seat behind the camera to direct and produce his first show for the streaming giant. Newcomer Madison Reyes stars as Julie Molina, a high school student who has struggled to rekindle her passion for music following the death of her mother. After finding one of her mum's old songs left on the piano, Julie accidentally summons the spirits of a deceased band from the 1990s, Sunset Curve. Partnered with a snappy soundtrack, all nine episodes are a whole load of fun and feel-good silliness that provide a nice escape during all the rubbish of lockdown. Reyes' performance is a fantastic showcase for her impressive talent, while Cheyenne's Jackson's appearance as corrupt club owner Caleb Covington is truly fabulous. You can watch Julie and the Phantoms on Netflix.

Holidate

Netflix's Christmas catalogue this year looks to be filled with lots of cheese and plenty of cringeworthy, festive goodness but one item that has set the bar high is their latest holiday rom-com. Holidate features Emma Roberts (American Horror Story, Scream Queens) and Luke Bracey (Monte Carlo, Hacksaw Ridge) as single pringles Sloane and Jackson. The pair randomly meet whilst returning Christmas gifts and get to talking about their hatred for the forced expectation of romantic dates for family holidays. From this, they pledge to be each other's plus-ones for every holiday celebration over the course of the next year, which as you can imagine comes with some bumps and bruises. Roberts is hilarious in this role, demonstrating her comedic ability that fans won't have seen for quite some time. While some of the jokes go a tad too far and the film's premise is a bit questionable, it's a great opener to the Christmas movie season. You can watch Holidate on Netflix.
